Baldwin Pools engineered and constructed a 25 metre lagoon style resort pool at the 180 room Marina Shores Resort, Shingley Beach adjacent to the new Able Point marina in the Whitsundays township of Airlie Beach.
A major challenge was the considerably over-excavated site created when civil contractors blasted the hillside for the new marina. The pool has a 800mm high hob wall retaining a raised tropical garden. This is designed to screen out the undercover car park near the swimming pool area.
Coping and surround paving is Chelmstone Quarriedstone, in ivory, which has a natural looking stone texture. Waterline tiles are 25mm by 25mm ceramics in matt charcoal and the interior is 1mm pebble - white with a hint of black to enhance the colour depth.
