Constructed in 2002 in the satellite city of Forest Lake on the western outskirts of Brisbane, the Forest Lake master-planned community offers a heated indoor aquatic facility.
This includes a 25 metre by 10 metre training pool and a heated 16 metre by 8 metre toddlers learn-to-swim and exercise pool. The 25 metre pool is complete with starting blocks, lane ropes, and backstroke-false start equipment.
Both pools are wet deck style with balance tanks concealed as part of the construction of the 25 metre pool. Pool surround edge tiling is vitrified and non-slip and the vitrified waterline tile is in matt ivory. One mm white pebble forms the interior finish and has a blue ceramic chip to enhance the sky blue interior of the aquatic centre. The lanes and end target markings are black vitrified 100mm by 100m tile. The multi-use learn-to-swim toddlers pool has lane rope anchors spaced along the 16 metre length so the pool can be sectioned off.
